Why poles?

Ski poles aren’t just accessories, they’re extensions of your skiing style. Whether you’re pushing through deep powder, stabilizing on steep traverses, or skinning uphill, the right pole matters. With telescopic adjustability (100–135 cm), a 35 cm long freeride handle, and a detachable strap system, the 1000 | Kang Poles are designed for versatility in all conditions, from big mountain lines to avalanche terrain.

Why Kang?

Kang is a Swedish brand born out of a chance T-bar encounter and a shared obsession with sustainability. Their mission is to reimagine the ski pole through innovative materials and design research at RISE (Research Institutes of Sweden). By focusing on recycled aluminum, replaceable components, and local manufacturing, Kang brings a fresh perspective to an often-overlooked piece of ski gear.

How do you use them?

The poles are light (280g each) and built to handle freeride terrain. Adjust the length to match your climb or descent, rely on the long grip for quick hand repositioning, and use the detachable strap when security is key or remove it in avalanche terrain for safety. Care is simple: keep them dry, protect them from scratches with a strap or bag, and always transport them on top of your skis.

Are they sustainable?

Absolutely. The poles are made from 100% recycled aluminum, which reduces energy consumption by up to 80% and CO₂ emissions by up to 90% compared to new aluminum. Production is anchored in Sweden, using small-scale manufacturers who prioritize fair work conditions and quality craftsmanship. And thanks to replaceable parts, these poles are designed to stay with you for many seasons instead of ending up in the waste stream.
