Why poles?

Ski poles aren’t just accessories, they’re extensions of your skiing style. Whether you’re pushing through deep powder, stabilizing on steep traverses, or skinning uphill, the right pole matters. With telescopic adjustability (100–135 cm), a 35 cm long freeride handle, and a detachable strap system, the 1000 | Kang Poles are designed for versatility in all conditions, from big mountain lines to avalanche terrain.

Why Kang?

Kang is a Swedish brand born out of a chance T-bar encounter and a shared obsession with sustainability. Their mission is to reimagine the ski pole through innovative materials and design research at RISE (Research Institutes of Sweden). By focusing on recycled aluminum, replaceable components, and local manufacturing, Kang brings a fresh perspective to an often-overlooked piece of ski gear.

How do you use them?

The poles are light (280g each) and built to handle freeride and touring. Many of our team riders love to use them in the park. Adjust the length to match your climb or descent, rely on the long grip for quick hand repositioning, and use the detachable strap when security is key or remove it in avalanche terrain for safety. Care is simple: keep them dry, protect them from scratches with a strap or bag, and always transport them on top of your skis.

Are they sustainable?

The poles are made from 100% recycled aluminum, which reduces energy consumption by up to 80% and CO₂ emissions by up to 90% compared to new aluminum. Production is anchored in Sweden, using a small-scale manufacturer who prioritizes fair work conditions and quality craftsmanship. Production also uses 100% renewable energy. And thanks to replaceable parts, these poles are designed to stay with you for many seasons instead of ending up in the waste stream.

Now in their second edition

The 1000 | Kang Poles have been refined for even better durability and feel. Version 2 introduces several updates: improved adhesives for longevity, a new stop mark that prevents over-extension, an upgraded inner-tube design for a tighter, noise-free fit, and a stronger basket attachment. The same trusted adjustability (100–135 cm), long freeride handle (35 cm), and detachable strap remain — now paired with a sturdier, smoother performance. It’s the same collaboration spirit, just tighter, stronger, and even better built.

Shipping Smarter: Ocean Freight Shrinks Our Carbon Footprint

Switching from flying individual orders to shipping bulk batches by boat has cut our emissions by about 94%. The exact numbers are estimates, but the difference is clear, slower shipping means a lighter footprint. It’s a change that keeps our skis moving forward, with far less impact on the planet.

We first heard about the WSN during the Nordic Protect Our Winters summit. A network where the ski and snowboard industry tackle sustainability together ?! We had dreamt of this type of industry collaboration, and we couldn’t be more stoked when we got accepted into the network.

Why we do collabs

We only create collaborations we genuinely stand behind, projects with brands we truly believe in. That shared passion leads to products built with care and intention. That’s the only thing that feels right for us.
