Why Capeesh?
Capeesh is one of those rare brands that feels inseparable from freeski culture itself. Started by Ferdinand Dahl, they’ve built a cult following over the years. “They are one of our favorite brands and they truly are a core freeski brand. They have the sickest ski team, with some of the most influential riders right now. And they're just about to drop what is expected to be the most influential street ski video in recent years”. We've been wanting to collab with Capeesh ever since their first launch. It was at Kimbo Sessions, they had a vending machine full of Capeesh belts that became both a park feature and a giveaway, it was legendary.
What’s the Wanted Impact on Ski Culture?
Our collab states high and loud that core freeski brands collectively influence the culture we come from. 1000 and Capeesh share the same DNA, we’re rider-founded, deeply rooted in freeskiing rather than alpine racing or mass-market corporations. We call it the Freeski Pact. And when rider-owned brands like 1000 and Capeesh link up, freeskiing stays in the hands of freeskiers.
The Story Behind the Products
The design for the logo says it all. Our red circle became a sun next to Capeesh’s cloud and we decided to share the sky. The beanie is slim enough to fit under a helmet, versatile enough to wear every day. Ever since the belt was seen in the Kimbo vending machines it’s been a freeskiing classic. We had to collab with them on this product, and make it red.
Each time a skier puts on the beanie or tightens the belt, they’re carrying forward a message: freeskiing belongs to skiers, and we’re here to keep it that way.
