Version 2, in black
We made this kit with Haglöfs because we couldn't find what we wanted anywhere else: the fit of freeskiing with the tech of real mountain gear. We showed up at their design studio with a pair of old pants, every scrape and repair telling us what needed to change, and built it from there. Now it comes back in black.
The jacket
Box fit, a hood that goes over your helmet, a chest pocket with a sleeve for your transceiver, and hand pockets placed high so they still work with a backpack on. See the jacket
The pants
A bib that sits extra high, suspenders you wear your own way, Kevlar-reinforced lower legs and room for crampons. See the pants
When
- Monday October 26: 1000 FAM, 48 hours early
- Wednesday October 28, 2 pm Eastern / noon Mountain / 11 am Pacific: open for everyone
Already pre-ordered? Yours ships first, as soon as the kit lands.
Keep the culture moving.

Walkthrough: the black kit, detail by detail
The collab kit we made with Haglöfs looks relaxed. Wide legs, a short and boxy jacket, nothing that screams mountaineering gear. But almost every detail on it is there because one of us got annoyed by something on the mountain, and the Haglöfs team found a way to fix it. This is a walkthrough of the black kit that drops 28 October, and how each part ended up on it.

1000 | Haglöfs 2 - The Story
It started with a pair of old snow pants. The first prototype of our Haglöfs kit was sewn by Magnus. He took a pair of snow pants he'd had for years, sat down in the sewing room at the Haglöfs office in Stockholm and started taking them apart.

How a Ski Is Made
Every pair of 1000skis is built by hand at Åre Ski Factory, a small ski factory in the mountains of northern Sweden, a short walk from the lifts of Åre, the country's biggest ski resort. A crew of skiers has been building skis and snowboards there since 1981. We've built every pair of 1000skis there since the company started in 2021, and we've learned more about skis from them than from anywhere else.

Magnus Granér | Founder interview
We Made a Podcast. Sort Of. Half the company is in Biarritz right now. The official reason is work. The real reason is that the Atlantic has waves in September and the Alps do not have snow yet. So we put two chairs on a balcony, a camera in front of them, clipped a mic on Magnus and pressed record.

Five Years. Still Red.
Five years ago today, 1000 went live. A website, three red skis, and six people refreshing the page to see if anyone would actually buy a pair. But it didn't start there. It started with a phone call I'd been dying to make.

Shipping Smarter: Ocean Freight Shrinks Our Carbon Footprint
Switching from flying individual orders to shipping bulk batches by boat has cut our emissions by about 94%. The exact numbers are estimates, but the difference is clear, slower shipping means a lighter footprint. It’s a change that keeps our skis moving forward, with far less impact on the planet.
